“MBSR class was facilitated so beautifully by Diane. Here I found a new understanding– all the striving to fix myself over these past years could be safely set down- It’s here that I discovered- maybe I am enough as is!”
Facilitated by Diane Renz, LPC, a licensed psychotherapist with 30 years of Mindfulness Practice, trained through The Center for Mindfulness-UMASS with Jon Kabat Zinn and Saki Santorelli. She specializes in trauma, anxiety, catastrophic illness and loss, utilizing the latest contemplative science research to inform approaches to healing as a Neuroscience Practical Applications Facilitator. Both her personal and professional experience has informed how to navigate life to discover, that no matter what the circumstances are in your life, whatever you are currently dealing with, it all can become Your Gateway to Healing™ through a quality of Attention that leads to Turning Pain Into Possibility™.
“Diane is an outstanding facilitator for mindfulness mediation. Her years of experience allows her to communicate powerfully and poetically. I felt like she leads with honesty and humility making the information accessible and clear for everyone. I am so deeply grateful to her. I now have a solid understanding and practice of mindfulness meditation that I do at home. I have studied many types of meditation practices but found MBSR to really clarify and simplify the universal principles of meditation.”-mbsr participant
“A huge thank you for the Day of Mindfulness— there are a few Practices, Mindful eating and Mindful walking, I’ve been doing for a long time but didn’t really “get” the benefits until this day— It was just the way you explained them that made them click for me. The day was such a gift.”– mbsr participant
“Mindfulness is the Cultivation of Awareness which Re-Turns a Mind to See inherent its possibilities, activated or not, contingent upon how and where our attention lies”
More on the History of MBSR
The Body Mind Connection is no longer in dispute, how our Mind’s attention impacts our Body/Brain is shown in the hundreds of Research Studies on MBSR and other Mindfulness interventions, demonstrating outcomes of Emotion Regulation, Cellular Repair, and Brain integration.
A new documentary, “The Connection”, tells Remarkable Stories of Recovery utilizing various methods of Mind Body Medicine, including MBSR, helping shift the Health Care System to include our capacity of awareness for us to gain access to what is already within us. This is what MBSR is all about, an 8 week program based in direct experience and practice so you can discover how mindfulness can benefit your life.
MBSR Requirements: This is the full 8 week series, not a drop in group, registration asks for your commitment to the 8 week cycle which includes a practice day, so you have a chance to receive the full benefit of this program. We will meet each week for 2+ hours, and each week you will be given suggested home practice. It is very helpful to have group support as we challenge the development of healthier habits. As we each work with our struggles in implementing something new, we can remember that the way to learn anything is to “Practice”, not to make perfect, but to make possible.
MBSR is a direct experience immersion into various forms of Mindfulness, including: sitting mindfulness meditation, body scan, mindful movement/yoga, walking meditation, mindful eating, heart practices, and inquiry, all in a supportive, confidential environment where you can feel safe to explore. Mindfulness is nothing new or special, it is a capacity for Awareness that exists within each of us, just needing some Attention to Cultivate so we can find our way back to what is essentially well in each of us.
This class is not recommended for those dealing with very recent trauma or loss or untreated addictions.
